Deconstruct Games
Deconstructing a game into its essential parts can be difficult. What makes a game worth playing? How do the rules of the game offer challenge? Is a game that's too easy worth playing? These are some of the questions we will seek to answer as we deconstruct games. Here is what you need to do:
- Form teams of 2 people and select a game you would like to learn. DO NOT select a game that you have already played.
- Find an area in the classroom or atrium space to set-up the game.
- Learn the layout for the game, the goal of the game, and the rules of the game well enough to teach someone else. (Hint: actually playing the game will help you to learn it!)
- Record your answers to the following questions:

Goosechase
GooseChase is a semester long competition that functions like a scavenger hunt. Working with your team, each team must earn a minimum of 11,000 points. To learn more about this challenge, go to goosechase.com, download the app, and search for "futurecasting" to find our class competition. The team with the most points will win and earn extra points toward their grade.
There are two teams. Team assignments will be made during class.
Note: At the end of the game, you may personally loose points (up to 50) if your team feels you did not "pull your weight".
